the rules
The basic rules for the game. Read before applying.

Everyone should know the guidelines of roleplay by now, but as we want no misunderstandings of what is expected from our players, they are here for clarity's sake!

Emphasis on not being a douchebag, moron, idiot, asshole or a pretentious jerk. Respect everyone and their characters in this community (and out of it). No crossing the IC and OOC line, ever. No godmodding or KILLING OF ANYONE'S CHARACTER, ever, unless given permission by the other person.

POINTS OF INTEREST RE: RULES: (AKA you should definitely read this)

Keep in mind this is aims to be a game with very dark themes. Torture, murder, death, and all forms of chaos run rampant here, and though graphic material will be marked with warnings, you must be a mature player. In case you were wondering, "dark" and "adult" themes don't necessarily translate to S&M or smut.

Not EVERY demon is soullessly evil, and not every vampire just wants to be saved from his tortured immortality. Faeries can be a surprising pain in the do-gooder's ass, and even the occasional hunter or slayer turns his or her back on the pack. The bottom line here is: help us find the balance between good and evil characters!

JOURNALS/BLOGS! Your character need not keep one. We are a heavily scene-based community, so it is not mandatory that your character maintain a journal (personal or otherwise). If you don't think he or she would, then he or she need not! This is a journal server, so we understand if this is confusing, but really--wouldn't your evil character rather be off causing pain and bedlam rather than writing about the nice sound this girl's neck made upon snapping it?

This also means you MUST be active in the threading comm. Here is the activity rule: PARTICIPATION IN A WRITTEN SCENE MUST OCCUR EVERY THREE (3) WEEKS. We are adamant about activity here, so please keep that in mind when applying. We understand that "Real Life" takes the front seat for most people (us included), but we also expect you to have the ability to let us know if you need some time off, or must take a hiatus. It is not our job to babysit you, and we won't. Be responsible for your own activity.

We want this game to be about action, drama, suspense, intricate storylines, and fun! That is the key here: FUN! If for any reason you try and ruin anyone's FUN, you will be staked through the heart by the mods.

As of right now, we have no banned PBs.

Certain species may be capped if we feel they are growing too quickly in comparison to the others. There is no character limit for players, but understand that all characters require applications and one's acceptance into the game DOES NOT guarantee acceptance of any future characters one may choose to apply for. Please be responsible when it comes to taking on multiples, and do not bite off more than you can chew. The picking up and dropping of characters left and right is, obviously, NOT acceptable. If you wish to drop a character, please come speak to one of the mods about it.

EDIT! PLEASE read over the textual list and refrain from giving your character a name/surname that is already in play. We've seen a lot of double-named characters, and while it IS realistic, it causes OOC-hassle. If you're ABSOLUTELY set on a name/surname that is already in-game, please contact the mods for further discussion.
